This year our Summer Camps are based on the four essential elements: Fire, Water, Air, and Earth. We hope you’ll join us next year for our Summer Camps!

In Week 1 we incorporated the theme of Fire into our activities, making candles, BBQ skewers, fruit “campfires”, and firework-inspired art, as well as conducting a range of experiments. We even had a fire safety scavenger hunt!

Week 2 was all about Water: we learned about water pollution, experimented with watercolor painting, and explored a mysterious soapsuds sensorial tub! We also played literacy fishing games, excavated homemade glacier “fossils”, and made our own tasty treats using the power of water, including steamed veggies and delicious frozen lollies!

In Week 3 we focused on Air. We performed wind-powered experiments, played games with balloons and a giant parachute, and made our own kites and wind chimes! We used air to pop our own popcorn for a snack and baked delicious bread rolls using yeast to raise the dough!

In our last week of camp we learned about Earth. We planted seedlings, made leaf rubbings, and created beautiful art with real flower petals and leaves! We experimented with homemade playdough to make land and water forms and our own fossils, and explored the classroom without the sense of sight like a mole! Finally, our food preparation this week included tasty baked vegetable chips made from carrots and potatoes, as well as green and blue Earth cookies.
