Prerequisite:Acceptance will be determined by readiness of the child, and the availability of space. Minimum age of child is 2 years old.

The Montessori Pre-Casa is a 1-year program designed for children who are ready to attend classes by themselves. When your child reaches 3 years old, (s)he will be invited to join the Montessori Preschool Casa Program (K1-K3).

We are accepting applications for September 2012.

The Objectives

Besides offering a well-prepared Montessori environment, our curriculum objectives also aid children in the following areas:

Language and Literacy Development

  • Communicate thoughts in words, develop spoken language and expand vocabulary.
  • Recognize letters and develop sound matches.
  • Listen with understanding and respond to directions and conversations.

Cognitive Development

  • Math development - recognize numbers, count objects, identify and name shapes, sort and classify.
  • Social studies development - learn about the continents, countries, people and their culture.
  • Artistic development - explore and expand fine motor skills through use of scissors, crayons and glue.

Physical Development

  • Develop large muscle skills through exercise, creative movement, balancing, jumping and running.
  • Develop fine motor skills through practical life activities, examples are: cutting paper, coloring within lines, manipulating puzzles pieces, stringing beads.
  • Potty training.

Social-emotional Development

  • Develop self-control and comfort away from parent.
  • Engage in cooperative group play.
  • Show initiative and independence in actions.
  • Develop problem-solving skills.
  • Serve snacks and clean-up.
  • Grace and courtesy skills.
